I've started this blog to chart my progress on my dolls house, the Hazeldene by Gordon's Miniatures. Having had a number of dolls houses since I was ten, I sold them all to make room for the Hazeldene which was my Christmas present in 2007. In style it very much resembles the DHE's Grosvenor House although I believe it might be slightly larger as on its cabinet its over 6 ft tall.
This photo is of the Hazeldene is the one on the website and its very similar to mine but the front of my basement is slightly different as you will be able to tell from the pictures below.Despite getting the house well over a year ago progess on it has been slow, weighed down as I am by University and a part time job.
This was the dolls house shell as I got it although I did have all of the necessary windows and doors to add once the decoration had been done. Knowing that progress would be slow however I couldn't resist putting my furniture in so I could at least admire it until it was done.
To give you a better idea of size the thing to the side of the picture is half of my double bed!
Overall I was and still am very happy with my house although there have been a few teething problems with it as work has gone on, with some window spaces being slightly too small and some of the door holes slightly too wide but most of it can be fixed with a little sanding and a bit of trim, so I doubt it will show in the final product.
Hmmm looking at this photo reminds me of how much has changed - the dining room has now been moved to the opposite side of the house. The kitchen furniture has been replaced as has the master bedroom suite but you'll be able to see all of that when I take some photos of where the house is at now tomorrow. Till then so long.
